Nina Paccha

Nina Paccha, whose name means 'source of light', is a legendary figure in the folklore of the Imbabura region in Ecuador. According to local legends, she was a stunningly beautiful young woman destined for sacrifice due to a drought affecting her village. In a brave act of defiance, she eloped with her beloved Guatalquí to escape her fate. Their flight resulted in Nina Paccha transforming into the breathtaking Lake San Pablo, a deep and mystical body of water that continues to captivate locals and visitors alike.
