Nina Penkova

Nina Penkova is the mother of Ivan Kucer, a soldier in the Ukrainian National Guard's Donbas Battalion. She endured the anguish of believing her son was dead after he was captured during the ongoing conflict, only to later learn he was alive in captivity. Nina is a symbol of resilience and hope, embodying the pain and pride of families affected by the war. She actively participated in welcoming her son back home after nearly four years of captivity, surrounded by her community, and continues to advocate for those still missing.
