Noni Verwey-Lichtveld

Noni Verwey-Lichtveld is recognized for her contribution to Suriname's national identity through her design of the country's flag in 1959. Her design, which featured a white background with colored stars, was ultimately adopted despite controversy and criticism from her father, Lou Lichtveld.
