Norma Maria de Souza

Norma Maria de Souza is a dedicated mother from the Varginha community in Manguinhos, Brazil, who became known for her emotional encounter with Pope Francis during his visit in 2013. Having camped out overnight to see the Pope, she sought his blessing for her son Kevyn, who has cerebral palsy. Norma's powerful story of resilience and faith, especially after losing Kevyn to Covid-19 in 2020, has inspired many as she now runs a project supporting women with disabled children.
