Nupu Sherpa

Nupu Sherpa is the president of the Yak and Chauri Farmers Association in Taplejung, Nepal. He has been actively involved in chauri and yak farming, a traditional livelihood for many in the region. His farm currently hosts 95 animals, significantly more than the maximum he can sustainably manage. Nupu has expressed concern over the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has severely restricted the market for selling these animals due to border closures with China, affecting the livelihoods of many farmers in the area.
