Nurit Yaari

Prof. Nurit Yaari was a prominent figure in Israeli theater research, known for her extensive contributions as a dramaturg, artistic consultant, and professor emeritus at Tel Aviv University's Department of Theater Arts. Over her distinguished career, she worked with notable Israeli playwrights and directors, including Hanoch Levin, and was instrumental in shaping the understanding of both classical and contemporary theater. Yaari's academic work focused on Greek drama, French classical theater, and Israeli theater, influencing generations of students and artists in the field. She recently made headlines due to her tragic passing at the age of 77, shortly after being found following a week-long disappearance.
