Nurlan Gahramanli

Nurlan Gahramanli, a 28-year-old Azerbaijani journalist known by his pseudonym 'Nurlan Libre', has been incarcerated for one and a half months on charges of 'smuggling', a pretext used by the Azerbaijani authorities to silence independent voices. A vocal critic of the government, he had warned of his imminent arrest and expressed pride in joining the ranks of imprisoned journalists in Azerbaijan.
