Odey Oyama

Odey Oyama is a prominent Nigerian environmental defender and the executive director of the Rainforest Resource Development Centre, known for his tireless efforts to protect the last remaining pristine rainforests in Cross River State. In January 2024, he was arrested alongside four colleagues and charged with promoting inter-communal war, a move widely perceived as retaliation for his activism against illegal logging and corporate interests threatening local ecosystems.
