Odile Godard
Odile Godard was the mother of famed French-Swiss filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard, who played a pivotal role in his early life and career. She notably sent her son to work on the construction of the Grande Dixence dam in Switzerland in an effort to redirect his troubled behavior, which stemmed from kleptomania and family issues. Tragically, she passed away in a scooter accident in 1954, an event that deeply affected Godard and influenced the creation of his debut film, Operation Concrete.
