Oleg Gordijevski

Oleg Gordijevski (1938-2023) was a prominent Soviet KGB officer turned double agent, known for his crucial role in providing intelligence to the British during the Cold War. Operating in the 1970s and 1980s, he was instrumental in revealing critical information about Soviet operations and intentions, which significantly influenced Western intelligence assessments. After defecting to the UK in 1985, Gordijevski became a celebrated figure for his insights into Soviet espionage tactics and the workings of the KGB. He passed away at the age of 87 in his home in the UK, with the cause of death not disclosed.
