Oleh Sentsov is a Ukrainian filmmaker and political activist known for his opposition to the Russian annexation of Crimea and his advocacy for political prisoners. He gained international recognition after being arrested by Russian authorities in 2014 and sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges of terrorism, which many deemed politically motivated. Sentsov's hunger strike in 2018 drew global attention to the plight of political prisoners in Russia.
