Oleksandr Bezverkhniy

Oleksandr Bezverkhniy is a 28-year-old Ukrainian veteran who endured a harrowing year of medical treatment following severe injuries sustained during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. After being critically injured in 2023, he underwent 120 surgeries and battled multiple infections, ultimately leading to the amputation of both legs. His journey has been marked by resilience and determination, as he has worked towards regaining mobility and independence with the support of his family, medical professionals, and volunteers. Currently, he is preparing for prosthetic fitting at the Protez Foundation Center in Minnesota, guided by renowned prosthetist Yakov Gradinar.
