Omar Cherno Bunhatab Jallow

O.C. Jallow, a prominent youth activist and diplomat, was a founding member of the People's Progressive Party (PPP) in The Gambia and played a crucial role in shaping the country's political landscape during its early years of independence. He was known for his dedication to harnessing youth power and was instrumental in organizing significant events like the National Youth Congress and the African Continental Youth Seminar. Jallow's commitment to public service continued until his tragic death in a road accident in January 2026, just days before his 92nd birthday.
