
Omar Menjivar
Omar Menjivar is a prominent Honduran lawyer and politician, currently serving as the vice mayor of San Pedro Sula. He has a background in law, having previously worked as a prosecutor for the Public Ministry. In the 2021 primary elections, Menjivar initially won the candidacy for mayor under the Libre party but later stepped aside to allow Roberto Contreras to take his place. His political career has been marked by controversies, including a legal accusation of defamation made by Contreras in 2024. Recently, he has announced his candidacy for deputy for the Cortés region, representing the National Party.
