OmiSoore Dryden
Dr. OmiSoore Dryden is a Jamaican-Canadian professor and a leading figure in Black Health Studies, currently serving as a full professor at the School of Nursing at Dalhousie University. Recently awarded the Canada Research Chair Tier 1 in Black Health Studies, her research focuses on the impact of anti-Black racism on health outcomes, particularly for Black queer and trans communities. With a strong commitment to intersectionality, Dr. Dryden aims to foster national and international dialogue on the health and well-being of Black populations while advocating for data sovereignty. She previously held the James R. Johnston Chair in Black Canadian Studies and is also the interim director of the Black Studies Research Institute.
