Orri Harðarson

Orri Harðarson was a celebrated Icelandic musician and author who passed away on June 7, 2023, at the age of 53, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Akranes on December 12, 1972, he developed a passion for music early in life, releasing his first album at 20. He gained recognition in the music industry, earning various awards, including the Icelandic Music Awards, and later transitioned to writing, publishing his first book in 2008 and several novels thereafter. In 2017-2018, he was named the town artist of Akureyri.
