Osvaldo Velásquez Ramírez was a 21-year-old officer of the Fuerza Pública in Costa Rica, who, despite being an active member of the Ministry of Security, was suspended for his involvement in a corruption case where he reportedly extorted money from tourists. He was tragically murdered in Santa Marta de Batán, Limón, suffering multiple gunshot wounds. His criminal activities had led to an investigation and disciplinary actions against him prior to his death.
