P. Dayaratna

P. Dayaratna was a prominent Sri Lankan politician and former cabinet minister who passed away on the morning of October 25, 2023, in Colombo. He entered politics in 1977, representing the Ampara District as a member of the United National Party. Throughout his political career, Dayaratna held various ministerial positions under several presidents, including J.R. Jayewardene, R. Premadasa, D.B. Wijetunga, Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, and Mahinda Rajapaksa. He was known for his significant contributions to the Digamadulla district and was recognized for his dedicated public service.
