
Pa Ayodele Adebanjo
Pa Ayodele Adebanjo was a prominent Nigerian nationalist, elder statesman, and chieftain of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organization, Afenifere. Born on April 10, 1928, in Ogun State, he began his political journey in 1943 as a follower of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and later joined the Action Group. With a background in journalism, Adebanjo studied law in the UK and was called to the English Bar in 1961. He was a key figure in Nigeria's political landscape, advocating for democracy, regional autonomy, and restructuring. Adebanjo remained an active voice in politics until his passing at the age of 96.
