Paquito
Paquito, a Jesuit priest originally from Málaga, Spain, has been a significant figure in Ecuador since arriving in 1963. He served as a professor and rector at the Colegio Javier, where he fostered educational and spiritual growth among students. Paquito has a long-standing connection with Pope Francis, having first met him in the early 1980s when the future pope was seeking to strengthen ties between Jesuit communities in Argentina and Ecuador. Their friendship was further solidified when they were both ordained in 1985. Paquito's dedication to his mission in Ecuador reflects a deep commitment to education and community, and he was notably present during Pope Francis's visit to Ecuador in 2015, which reinforced the bond between the pontiff and the Ecuadorian people.
