Paraskeva
Paraskeva, also known as Trnova Petka, is a revered saint in the Serbian Orthodox Church. Born in Rome in the early 2nd century, she was raised in a Christian household and became known for her unwavering faith during a time of severe persecution against Christians. After losing her parents, she distributed her wealth to the poor and dedicated her life to preaching the Gospel. Paraskeva faced brutal torture for her beliefs, including being subjected to boiling oil and other tortures, yet miraculously survived. Ultimately, she was beheaded around 140 AD for her faith. Her relics were later transferred to Trnovo, Bulgaria, where she was venerated as a protector of the blind and celebrated for her extraordinary courage and devotion.
