Parmenides

Parmenides was an ancient Greek philosopher from the city of Elea, known for his foundational role in Western metaphysics and epistemology. His work, particularly the poem 'On Nature,' presents a radical view that reality is unchanging and that all change is an illusion. Parmenides argued that the senses are deceptive and that reason is the only path to understanding existence.
