Parmenio Medina Pérez was a renowned Costa Rican journalist known for his impactful contributions to sports journalism. He arrived in Costa Rica in the 1970s and became a significant figure in the broadcasting of sports events, including the Vuelta Ciclística a Costa Rica and various national football matches. Medina was admired for his critical and humorous approach to sports commentary through his program 'La Patada,' where he also addressed broader social issues. Tragically, he was assassinated in 1998 after exposing misconduct at Radio María, leaving a lasting legacy in the field of journalism.
