Pastor Cortés Álvarez was a bodyguard who tragically lost his life while protecting Salvador Bastida García, the mayor of Tacámbaro, Michoacán. He was killed during an attack by Santos Moreno Rodríguez on June 5, 2023, when the mayor was also shot and later succumbed to his injuries.
