Patricia Lawrence Haughton was a pioneering figure in the travel industry, serving as the former president and CEO of Alken Tours & Apel Travel in New York. Under her leadership, the agency, founded by her father, became the largest Black-owned retail travel agency in New York City, significantly boosting travel to Jamaica and the Caribbean. With a deep commitment to community engagement and cultural exchange, she was remembered for her remarkable contributions to the tourism sector before her passing at the age of 67.
