Patricia Wood

Patricia 'Dolly' Wood, who was married to the prominent journalist Rickey Singh, played a significant role in his life as a devoted partner and mother to their six children. Hailing from a middle-class Black Georgetown family, she faced initial resistance from her family regarding her choice to marry Singh, who came from a different cultural background. Their union, regarded as the first mixed marriage in their church, exemplified their commitment to love and family amidst societal challenges. Wood was also known for her involvement in the church and her support of Singh's work, which contributed to his legacy as a champion of press freedom in the Caribbean.
