Patricio Espinosa

Patricio Espinosa is the rector of the Universidad Central del Ecuador, a prominent higher education institution in the country. He recently made the decision to postpone the start of the academic year from October 13 to October 20, 2023, in response to a national strike called by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (Conaie) over a government decision to increase diesel prices. This move was intended to ensure a safe and orderly beginning to the academic year for the university's 42,150 students.
