Patrick Dils
Patrick Dils is a French man who became known for being wrongfully convicted for the 1987 murder of two children in Montigny-lès-Metz. Dils was only 16 at the time of the crime and initially confessed under police pressure, but he later retracted his confession. After spending 15 years in prison, he was exonerated when new evidence emerged that pointed to the true perpetrator, Francis Heaulme. Dils' case became a landmark example of judicial error in France, prompting discussions about the reliability of confessions and the need for reforms in the criminal justice system.
