Paul Barker

Paul Barker is the executive director of the PNG Institute of National Affairs, a think tank based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. He has expertise in national policy and economic development issues. In the context of Papua New Guinea's recent decision to close its Taiwan office, Barker noted that while the country has recognized the One China Policy since gaining independence, it has historically maintained trade and cultural exchanges with Taiwan.
