Paul Gavan
Paul Gavan is a former Sinn Féin senator and a seasoned advocate for workers' rights and education, who recently accepted a position as campaigning and advocacy officer with the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (Ictu). Elected to the Seanad in 2016, Gavan has been involved in various union-backed initiatives, including legislation on the distribution of tips in the hospitality sector. In the recent elections, he was not endorsed by his party for a seat on the labour panel, which led to his decision not to actively participate, while two other candidates were successfully elected.
