Paul Van Hoeydonck

Paul Van Hoeydonck, born on October 8, 1925, in Antwerp, was a prolific artist known for his work in sculpture, painting, drawing, collage, and graphic art. He is best recognized for his sculpture 'Fallen Astronaut,' which was left on the Moon by the Apollo 15 crew in 1971 as a tribute to lost astronauts, marking it as the first and, for many years, the only piece of art on the lunar surface.
