Pavel Spirin

Pavel Spirin is a Belarusian political blogger and former political prisoner who recently gained attention for his release after spending more than five years in prison. A trained lawyer, Spirin transitioned to YouTube, where his politically charged videos garnered significant views, leading him to become an outspoken critic of the Belarusian government. In 2020, he attempted to run for president but was arrested shortly thereafter for allegedly inciting hatred against the authorities. His detainment included time in a notorious correctional facility, where he was held alongside notable figures such as Nobel laureate Ales Bialiatski. Following his release, Spirin moved to Lithuania, expressing gratitude to his supporters and a commitment to continue advocating for political change.
