Pavol Pilař

Pavol Pilař is the director of the esteemed Slovak artistic ensemble Lúčnica, having taken the helm in 2022. With a rich history as a dancer within the company from 2006 to 2018, Pilař has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to preserving the integrity and vision of the ensemble amidst changing political landscapes, having worked under three different ministers of culture. His leadership emphasizes the importance of continuing the ensemble's artistic programming without succumbing to external pressures, while also navigating budgetary challenges faced by state cultural institutions.
