Pedro Romero

Pedro Romero is an evolutionary biologist and research professor at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM). He has commented on the challenges of working with ancient DNA and the implications of the recent genetic modification of gray wolves to resemble dire wolves, arguing that such efforts do not equate to genuine de-extinction and questioning the ecological purpose of reviving an extinct species.
