Pema Gyamtsho

Pema Gyamtsho is the Director General of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), an inter-governmental organization focused on sustainable mountain development in the Hindu Kush-Himalayan region. Recently, he was in the news for calling for policy changes to address the alarming decline in snowfall levels that threaten water security for nearly two billion people dependent on snowmelt, emphasizing the urgent need for improved water management and regional cooperation.
