Pérez family

The Pérez family, part of the Xinca community in Costa Sur, Guatemala, has seen their main source of income from fishing collapse due to ocean warming and water acidification, leading to a drastic reduction in their catch and prompting two of their older children to emigrate to the north in search of better opportunities.
