Petar Rosić
Petar Rosić, also known as Patriarch Varnava, was born in 1880 in Pljevlja, Montenegro. He served as the 40th Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church from 1930 until his untimely death in 1937. His tenure was marked by significant political and religious challenges, including opposition to the concordat between the Vatican and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Rosić passed away under mysterious circumstances, which contributed to his legacy as a notable figure in Serbian church history. A monument in his honor is currently being planned for construction in Pljevlja.
