Peter Burman

Peter Burman is a New Zealand actor known for his role as Sage on the long-running television series Shortland Street. Growing up in Tauranga, Burman faced numerous rejections in his early acting career, including three unsuccessful auditions for drama school, but ultimately secured the part of Sage, which marked a significant moment for him and his family. As an openly gay actor, Burman appreciates the diversity portrayed in Shortland Street and relishes his character's role in providing comic relief. Alongside his television work, he is set to premiere a new stage show titled Scorned, which reflects on his own experiences as a queer individual navigating relationships and identity in his late teens and early twenties.
