Peter Funch

Danish photographer Peter Funch spent nine years capturing the daily routines of office workers in New York City at the corner of 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue. His project, which began in 2007, involved taking photographs during a specific hour each morning, revealing striking patterns of repetition in people's clothing, expressions, and behaviors over the years. Funch's work culminated in the publication of '42nd and Vanderbilt' in 2018, showcasing 123 pairs of portraits that highlight the fixed routines of New Yorkers, prompting reflections on the nature of daily life and the passage of time.
