Peter Yeomans

Peter Yeomans is a veteran detective and child protection advocate with over 45 years of service in the New South Wales Police Force. Known for his compassion and dedication, Yeomans has been instrumental in changing the landscape of child abuse investigations, significantly improving conviction rates from 8% to approximately 80%. Throughout his career, he has also played a crucial role in addressing historic cases of violence against marginalized communities, most notably the reinvestigation of the murder of Scott Johnson, which was ruled a gay hate crime decades after it occurred. As he approaches retirement, Yeomans remains committed to advocating for victims and ensuring that their stories are heard and believed.
