Petre Ispirescu

Petre Ispirescu was a renowned Romanian writer and folklorist, born in January 1830 in Bucharest. He is celebrated for his exceptional ability to collect and retell Romanian folk tales, infusing them with a unique narrative style. His first collection of tales was published in 1862, and it included famous stories such as 'Tinerețe fără bătrânețe' and 'Făt-Frumos cu părul de aur'. Despite lacking formal education, Ispirescu's passion for storytelling and literature allowed him to become a pivotal figure in Romanian culture. He passed away on November 21, 1887, marking the anniversary of his death in 2023.
