
Phan Luong Cam
Professor Phan Luong Cam, the first female professor and doctor of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, passed away at the age of 82 on April 9, 2023. A renowned scientist in electrochemistry and corrosion, her career began in 1965. She studied in the Soviet Union and returned in 1973 to contribute significantly to education and research in Vietnam. She founded the Center for Corrosion Research and Protection of Metals and was the first female president of the Vietnam Society of Corrosion Science and Technology. She received the Kovalevskaia Award in 1995 and various honors for her contributions to science and women's advancement.
