Phaskorn Boonyalaksm is the Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) in Thailand. He has been in the news for announcing the upcoming test of the Cell Broadcast Service, which aims to enhance disaster warning systems across the country. This initiative, in collaboration with mobile network providers and regulatory bodies, will allow for rapid alerts to be sent to millions of mobile phone users in the event of disasters such as earthquakes and floods, starting from May 2, 2025.
