Philbert McQueen

Philbert McQueen was a hardworking builder and father of renowned filmmaker Steve McQueen. He was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2000, a condition that ultimately led to his death in 2006. His struggle with the disease and his reluctance to discuss health issues significantly influenced Steve's awareness of prostate cancer and the importance of open dialogue regarding men's health, particularly within the black community.
