Philippe Jaccottet

Philippe Jaccottet was a celebrated Swiss poet, born in Moudon, Vaud, in 1925. He left Switzerland at the age of 21, moving to Paris and later settling in rural France, where he produced an extensive body of poetic work until his death in 2021. Jaccottet is recognized for his profound engagement with nature and the visible world, which he depicted with lyrical precision. He became a significant figure in French literature, achieving the rare honor of having his works included in the prestigious Bibliothèque de la Pléiade.
