Philippe Prost

Philippe Prost is a renowned French architect and winner of the Grand Prix national de l’architecture 2022, known for his innovative approach to the rehabilitation of industrial and military structures. His notable projects include the restoration of the Vauban citadel on Belle-Ile-en-Mer and the transformation of the Cité des Électriciens in Hauts-de-France. Prost emphasizes the importance of understanding a building's history and environment, drawing inspiration from the architecture of war. He also teaches at the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Paris-Belleville, where he leads research on new construction techniques and materials. A retrospective of his work is currently on display at the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine in Paris.
