Philippe Walter was the swimming coach at the Uster Swim Club during the tragic accident at the Hallenbad Uster on May 9, 1985, where a concrete ceiling collapsed, resulting in twelve fatalities. On that fateful evening, he was training elite young swimmers when he noticed the ceiling's ominous sounds and urgently warned his swimmers to dive for safety, managing to escape himself just moments before the disaster struck.
