Phillip Phaneuf

Rev. Phillip Phaneuf is a Methodist pastor from North Chili United Methodist Church in Rochester, New York, who recently made headlines for publicly announcing his plans to transition into a woman during a church service. At 51 years old, Phaneuf revealed that he now identifies as asexual and prefers the name Phillippa, with she/her pronouns. His announcement, which included a heartfelt message of affirmation and support for the LGBTQ+ community, was delivered while wearing a rainbow stole. Phaneuf has been undergoing hormone replacement therapy for three months and emphasized that his transition will not affect his pastoral duties.
