Piero Rivas

Piero Rivas is the deputy director of meteorological prediction at the National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology of Peru (Senamhi). He was in the news for providing insights on the unexpected light rain occurring in various districts of Lima, despite prior forecasts predicting high temperatures. Rivas explained that this weather pattern was due to moisture from the Andean region being carried to the coastal areas, resulting in summer-like precipitation.
