Pietro Rosa was an Italian engineer and archaeologist known for his significant contributions to the study and restoration of ancient Roman monuments. His excavation work in 1874 uncovered the so-called Passaggio di Commodo at the Colosseum, a hidden passage used exclusively by emperors, which has recently been made accessible to the public for the first time.
